Argument
Freya is an only child, fantasized and loved. Her neighbor Clara is her best friend. Both discover the breeding of an abandoned cat in a container. Your mother does not want animals at home. They hide it, they take care of it and they feed it. The cat grows. Clara’s mother is an Italian widow who is going through financial hardship. The European economic crisis affects everyone. Freya’s father asks for a loan from the Bank for his business. They deny it. The paternal grandmother has to help the family. His mother starts working outside the home. The social conveniences, the one that will say, the struggle for survival. The tricks to maintain economic status. The loss of housing. And many other recurring themes of current Spain are treated in the novel.
